I built my own lab at work and I also use Proctor Labs for my practices. I finished all IPexpert vol 1 and vol 2 labs multiple times, this is for building up my speed, sometimes I add variation to the scenerio to try out different things to deepen my understanding.

For short questions, I’ll recommend to read the SRNDs, also being familiar with various documents can help you to speed up of finding url links, specific bandwidth numbers, config examples etc. Make sure you know where exactly they are, so that you don’t need to waste any time to hunt them around in the real lab. If you’ve done enough labs, you shouldn’t be worried about the short questions, but during your practise lab, try to pay more attention to the reasoning behind of why you choose a certain item and understand the debug messages.

For lab, the dialplan is a huge part of it, make sure you understand how digits are manipulated in +dialing in a very flexible form. This involves a good design on PT/CSS, various translation pattern, calling/called party transformation, RP/RL/RG/GW handling. A good starting point is to read and understand fully on Vik’s tech blog on IPexpert. And don’t panic if something is not working as your expected, I made mistakes that I almost never made in my own practise lab, try to stay calm and stick with the 15 mins golden rules, don’t get stuck on something for more than 15 mins in the exam.
