The Cisco Exam CoLaboratory project is a program through which you can earn a time extension on your Cisco certification in exchange for your help authoring and reviewing Cisco exam items.

Cisco is currently seeking qualified individuals to help author and review exam items for the SWITCH, TSHOOT, DESGN, ARCH, and IUWVN exams. Compensation for your work will extend your certification for one full year.

Requirements
Acceptance into the pilot program is based on meeting these criteria:

• You hold a current Cisco CCNP Routing and Switching, CCNP Wireless, CCDA or CCDP certification.
• You have a minimum of two years of current experience in an appropriate job role.
• You complete a short application form and submit your resume.
• You are willing to sign a participant agreement.
• You are a registered Cisco Learning Network user.
• You must have a Cisco.com account.
• You submit three sample exam questions.
• You can dedicate 5 to 7 hours per week to this project over an 8-week period of time (March 26, 2012 – May 18, 2012.)

Long awaited updates to CCNA Security and the CCNP Security have finally hit. Here is a rundown of what has currently changed.

CCNA Security

The Implementing Cisco IOS Network Security (IINS) 1.0 course and exam have been updated to version 2.0.  The version 1.0 exam, 640-553 IINS, features a last day to test of September 30, 2012. The new exam is 640-554 IINS and is available now.

CCNP Security

There are two changes to the CCNP Security track. The FIREWALL course and exam have been updates to version 2.0, and the VPN course and exam have been updated to 2.0.

The FIREWALL 1.0 exam, 642-617 FIREWALL, features a last day to test of May 28, 2012. The new exam is 642-618 FIREWALL and is available now.

The VPN 1.0 exam, 642-647 VPN, features a last day to test of May 28, 2012. The new exam is 642-648 VPN and is available now.
