In this post we will look at what happens to the TTL value of a packet when it enters the MPLS VPN. We will also see how we can change that behavior to hide the provider network from customers.

R4(CE)—R5(PE)—R9(P)—R8(P)—R6(PE)

R4 is a CE router communicating with a VRF on R6.

R6 is a PE but has a loopback in the VRF.

Hi IPexpert blog readers!!!

Well as some of you know I am starting a new CCIE quest.  I am going to study for CCIE voice.

In this “Iwan is going for quad” blog series I am going to give you a weekly update of all my adventures regarding the CCIE Voice study.

This will be about my successes but also my failures, the stuff that I found boring and the stuff that I found fun to do.

I will explain you what my approach is and will discuss the progress. For our new students this is the opportunity to see how I am building up the knowledge from scratch until I passed the lab exam.
