I passed the CCIE Security on October 6th, 2009 and now I am proud to be CCIE #25629.

My lab studying started last year and had a failure March, still for v2. Then I started to study for V3.

I used IPExpert workbooks and I’ve found them awesome!!! Read carefully every lab from both volume 1 and 2 and practice a lot… You will be good for the lab portion…
For the OEQ, I recommend people reading all the examples, I mean, the explanation part why you are configuring it and be sure you are able to explain even with your own words… Ah, reading Q&A documents at Cisco site is also good for OEQ.

Finally, try to develop a strategy to solve the lab. Remember that 4 points for an “easy” (easy means that YOU know how to do it without looking for any documentation) question values the same that 4 points for a tough question…

To finish, I had scheduled my exam in August to be doing it in October when something nobody desires happened. I was almost good to go when I had the sad news that my mother had passed away. I almost quit the idea of doing the test, but I am sure she would be very happy if I passed it, as she was expecting me to do so…

Thank you!

I started to think about undertaking the CCIE back in Feb 2008, after several conversations with a couple of my colleagues, pointed me in the direction of Proctorlabs and IPexpert.

From there on in I used the Proctor Labs rack rentals which complimented the IPexpert Self Study, Workbook and Proctor Guide for the Security V2 Blueprint. The remote racks used up to date equipment, the fastest and most responsive I have come across.  But what makes Proctorlabs even better is the fantastic support, provided by Drew and Ryan, these guys were superb even in the early hours :)

The Workbook and Proctor Guide package was a bargain, 12 Audio CD’s, 6 DVD’s and 2 volumes of Version 2 blueprint content, all of which were fantastic value.  Just before my first attempt IPexpert then released the ILT mock labs, which were a great addition to the Workbooks and Proctor Guide, and helped me prepare well.

Then came the dreaded failure on my first attempt followed rapidly by the change to version 3, a very challenging period indeed. IPexpert did a great job to produce quality material in preparation for not 1 but 3 CCIE track changes (Security, Voice & R&S).  The changes from the v2 to v3 blueprint were vast, lots of new technologies, and plenty of additions to the old ones. All of which required so much more time to prepare for my first shot at the v3 lab.

After a lot of hard work and preparation, I was fortunate enough to pass the v3 lab on my 2nd attempt on October 5th in Brussels.

My success was largely due to the support provided by the IPexpert team, everyone was great and very easy to deal with.  Special thanks need to go to Tyson Scott who has constantly been on hand to provide myself and many others, great guidance and advice on OSL.  Just being able to talk to the experts that have been there and done it before, was priceless.

If theres one thing that makes IPexpert rise above the rest, it is their exceptional customer service, undoubtably the best I have received.  Its not just about selling products for these guys, they actually care about ensuring you succeed in your goals, which is a rare commodity in business today.

Many thanks guys its been a pleasure.

I have to give special thanks to Vik Malhi, also to the whole IPExpert Team that I have contact with, (Wayne, Cat, Neil, Drew, Ryan, Sean, Mark), the service you provide and the quality of materials you develop are just great!!, this set you miles away from any other vendor out there,

Thanks IPexpert!!, I haven’t thought about my next career certification goal, but I’m sure I will choose you as my training provider,

Just wanted to let you know that I passed my CCIE SP Lab (CCIE# 25512 is my number). A path to my success is shown below as I believe you may like to know about success stories and study plans.

I have been working with Cisco Networking equipment since year 2000 and started at the bottom working with relatively simple low-end ISDN routers (Does anyone remember the Cisco 700 series routers :o)). Over the next 7-years I followed the standard certification path of attaining CCNA, CCNP and CCIP, but like so many others I couldn’t really commit the time to studying for CCIE due to that fact I was too busy in my routine work as I used to work in ISP.

In January this year I decided that I had enough experience in ISP, for once in my life I would put myself first and I took the CCIE written exam. At the end of February I had received my IPEXPERT workbooks and put a training plan in place…

All of the hard work above paid off and I attained my CCIE SP number this morning. I thought the exam was tough, but fair (not as tough as IPEXPERT Labs).

Thanks to IPEXPERT and their step-by-step learning curriculum I was able to not be overwhelmed with the amount of material while still being able to prepare for my lab. I was studying around 14 hours a day for 3 months straight 7 days a week, all this time was spent using IPEXPERT directly or indirectly. For this reason, I think it would’ve been impossible to complete my mission without IPEXPERT and their great resources, materials, services, and staff. Thanks for all your help and for providing people like me the chance to achieve such a great milestone that not only affects me personally but also motivates other people to achieve it.

Thanks a lot and good luck to you all.

Back in 2007 I first used IPexpert to complement my other study materials as I was preparing for my R&S lab. After clearing my R&S lab successfully, I spent some time getting back into the real world and enjoying some semblance of a normal life. When I caught the bug again and considered attaining another CCIE certification, I had no doubt in my mind that I would engage IPexpert once again to assist me in my pursuit. I cleared the SP lab a few days ago which is fair to say just an awesome feeling. During my studies for the SP lab, IPexpert were always on hand to assist me in my preparation.

IPexpert released some new material for the SP track which was automatically made available to me at no extra cost. The updated material was excellent in providing a firm foundation on which to build on. IPExpert’s material coupled with a number of titles from Cisco Press and other publishers, as well as the wealth of material available though the Cisco documentation website will hold any candidate in good stead as they prepare for their lab. Keep up the good work IPexpert.

Thanks!

IPExpert’s One Week Learning Experience for Voice was invaluable preparation for the actual voice lab. Vik Malhi was a fantastic instructor and covered all the topics in the new CCIE-V 3.0 blueprint in great detail.
