Passed my lab in Bangalore at second attempt. I would say the IPexpert did help me out this achievement. My study plan was also driven from IPexpert Vol 1 workbook. Read the technology thoroughly from books and do the focused lab. I followed the workbook sequence which really made me easy to cover all the technologies in the best way. By the way, I was also lucky enough to be given 25 session for rack time for free during the Christmas give away. Thanks Wayne for that and i hope you could do it every now and then.. :) I extensively used IPexpert workbooks as it cover more topics than others like L2VPNs and i feel that IPExpert labs are much harder then the actual exam which is really good for preparation.. I’d also like to give my thanks to Mike for offering me a deal that i can’t resist and took away a thousand dollars from me.. hehe.. Man..I really wouldn’t have done it without all these things.
Cheers..

I began working with Cisco gear in 2001. My first Cisco voice experience was on CallManager 3.0. Although I qualified CCNP and CCVP, there was always this nagging in the back of my head that I needed to qualify as CCIE. I began pursuing this in earnest in 2008. Due to the economy, and various other factors, I had to wait longer than I would have preferred to get company sponsorship to pursue this. In my case, it was worth it.
I was able to purchase the full blended learning solution from IPexpert for use in preparing for the lab. I had been through the Volume 3 labs prior to going in for the bootcamps, and this allowed me to wring as much as I could from Vik while in his classroom. During my preparation, I was able to interact personally with both Mark and Vik, and I believe that they were the key to differentiating the IPexpert offerings from other products out there.
My first attempt at the lab was in April of 2009. I did well, but missed by a handful of points. It took 3 months to get another date. Due to work requirements, I really didn’t study much prior to the second attempt. I took a week and a half off prior to attempt #2, and was horrified to find out I’d forgotten how to configure the Cat 6500. Fortunately, there was an awesome lecture by Mark Snow on my BLS hard drive, that helped me recall the missing elements there so I could get through it.
Coming out of the test, I felt very good that I’d passed. I knew I’d missed a few things, but felt positive about it. While I was slightly apprehensive awaiting the results, I was overjoyed to receive the news this morning that I had passed the lab.
Even with the depth of my experience starting this journey, I’m quite sure that IPexpert made it possible for me to get this completed with only 7 months of formal preparation. My hat is off, and my deepest appreciation is extended, to Mark, Vik and the entire staff of IPexpert/Proctor Labs. And in that I include the folks like Ryan and Drew who responded to lab rack issues late at night. I couldn’t have done it alone. Thanks so much for being part of my certification team.
